    Description

Eastern Air Lines embraced Ocala on Air Mail Route 6 and Air Mail Route 10 on April 30, 1950. The flight patterns were: Jacksonville to Ocala to Miami, Orlando to Ocala to Jacksonville, Tallahassee to Ocala to Tampa, and Tampa to Ocala to Tallahassee.
No cachet was provided for inaugural mail from Tampa.
    This cover was
carried on the inaugural Air Mail Route 10 flight from Tampa, Florida to Ocala, Florida (where it was backstamped).
Lou Fischbach, a noted air mail historian for more than 60 years, prepared the cover.
